Weapons and arms |

| |
Police require access to reliable and advanced weapons capable of being used in response to force and when the application of force is necessary. |
|

All police officers should be issued as standard issue a sidearm. |
|
| |
Furthermore, all police officers engaged in tactical and patrol work shall be issued with a semi-automatic rifle. |

Personal possession of sidearm |

Side arms of police are issued for personal possession and a police officer is required to retain this weapon at all times, excluding sickness and holidays. |
|
| |
In regards to rifles, all rifles shall be checked out and checked in to a police station armoury at the beginning and the end of a shift. |
|
| |
Absolutely no rifles or any other high calibre, high powered weapons are permitted to be stored in police cars or other premises outside of a standard shift. |
|
